Jessup Cellars Table for Four

Table for Four

Napa Valley Red Blend

A wine crafted for connection, conversation, and shared moments, Table for Four captures the spirit of gathering around great wine and good company. At Jessup Cellars, wine is about more than what’s in the glass. It’s about the experience around it. This Napa Valley red blend reflects our philosophy of “The Art of the Blend” bringing together varietals, flavors, and people in perfect balance.

The Story Behind The Blend

Some wines are created in boardrooms. Others emerge from chemistry labs. But the most memorable wines? They’re
born around tables where friends gather, laughter flows, and someone says, “We should bottle this.”

Table For Four began exactly that way.

In the early 2000s, Jessup Cellars was still finding its identity. The winery produced quality wines, but nothing had
yet captured that elusive combination of excellence and soul, the kind of wine that makes people stop, sip again,
and ask, “What is this?”

That changed during winter of 2004 when Roy Eisiminger flew vintage samples from Napa Valley to Sioux Falls,
South Dakota. Three couples; Roy and Cheri Eisiminger, Dan and Becky Blue, and Vance and Jana Thompson, gathered around a dining table with an array of wines before them. The goal was ambitious: create a proprietary red blend that would put Jessup Cellars on the map.

Table for Four
What happened next was equal parts art and alchemy. They tasted. They debated. They moved from glasses to carafes, blending and re-blending, adjusting proportions like chefs perfecting a recipe. Hours passed. Wine flowed. And gradually, through trial and experimentation and the kind of creative collaboration that only happens when talented people trust each other, they found it: 65% Cabernet Sauvignon for structure and power, 15% Cabernet Franc for aromatics and elegance, 15% Merlot from Mt. Veeder for silky texture, and 5% Petite Sirah for color and backbone. The blend was extraordinary. Bold but balanced. Complex yet approachable. It had the gravitas of Napa Valley’s best Bordeaux-style wines but felt distinctly Californian—warmer, more open, more generous. But it still needed a name. Dan Blue had the answer. Every time he and Becky visited Yountville with their friends, he found himself calling restaurants and asking for the same thing: “A table for four, please.” It was shorthand for gathering, for friendship, for the moments when work ends and life begins. The phrase captured something essential about wine itself. It exists not for solitary contemplation but for sharing, for bringing people together, for transforming meals into memories. The name also held a beautiful symmetry. The blend contained four varietals. And at its heart, it was about the most fundamental unit of gathering: a table with chairs for four. Table For Four debuted in 2003, and the response was immediate. This was the wine that truly put Jessup Cellars on the map. It became the winery’s flagship, the very first signature blenwind, the wine that defined what Jessup Cellars stood for: quality without pretension, excellence without exclusivity, and the belief that the best wines are the ones
