Jessup Cellars Ma Chérie Rosé

Ma Chérie Rosé

Napa Valley Rosé

Elegant, vibrant, and effortlessly refreshing, Ma Chérie Rosé is a celebration of the lighter side of Napa Valley.

Meaning “my dear,” Ma Chérie captures a sense of charm, warmth, and connection. This is a wine made for sunlit afternoons, spontaneous gatherings, and the simple joy of sharing a glass with someone special.

The Story Behind The Blend

Every spring, something beautiful arrives. Not just the wine, but the reason we pour it: to celebrate the people who nurture us, guide us, and help us grow into who we’re meant to become. Ma Chérie, “my dear” in French, is our love letter to mothers.

The wine takes its name from Cheri Eisiminger, one of Jessup Cellars’ owners. When Cheri and her husband Roy moved from the Midwest to Napa Valley in 1989, they brought more than their love of wine, they brought the values that would shape this winery for generations. As a healthcare professional, Cheri understood what it meant to care for something fragile, to nurture growth, and to dedicate yourself to healing. Those qualities, patience, dedication, the ability to see potential and help it flourish, are the essence of motherhood.

Ma Chere Rose by Jessup Cellars
The choice to name this wine after Cheri is both personal and universal, honoring one remarkable woman while celebrating all mothers. Because this is what mothers do: they see potential where others see problems. They commit when others walk away. They pour themselves into creating something that will outlast them. When Jessup Cellars introduced Ma Chérie in 2019, it joined the Art of the Blend series as the only rosé, a wine as elegant and versatile as the women it honors. Released each spring around Mother’s Day, it arrives when gardens are blooming, when the world feels full of promise, when we naturally think about the people who gave us life and taught us how to live it. Our winemaker approaches Ma Chérie with the same creativity and care that defines all our Art of the Blend wines. The base varies by vintage, sometimes Grenache, sometimes Pinot Noir, sometimes Carignane, but the spirit remains constant: bright, fresh, graceful, and endlessly versatile. The wine showcases beautiful fruit notes of ripe strawberry and watermelon, leading to delicately tart flavors of pomegranate and cranberry. It’s the kind of wine that makes everything taste better, that brings people together, that turns ordinary moments into celebrations. Rosé has long been misunderstood, dismissed as frivolous or simple, underestimated and undervalued. Sound familiar? Like mothers whose work is so essential it becomes invisible, rosé does everything quietly and beautifully. It pairs with salads and seafood and chicken and cheese. It works at brunch or dinner. It’s sophisticated enough for formal occasions yet approachable enough for picnics. It asks for nothing and gives everything. Ma Chérie ages gracefully for 3–5 years, though it’s stunning right now. Just like the mothers we honor, strong in this moment, even more remarkable with time. This wine is for the mothers who give us roots and wings. For the women who show up, who sacrifice, who love fiercely and without condition. For the healthcare workers and teachers and entrepreneurs and artists and caregivers who shape the future one person at a time.
