Gallery Opening: Jason Myers
Jason Myers is a prolific multi-disciplinary artist with studios in Indiana and the Netherlands. Myers received his bachelor’s degree from the Kansas City Art Institute and his MFA from American University.
Life could be described as a collection of moments. Every moment an essential unit of measurement by which all life is divisible. The fleeting moments are collected and condensed cross-sections of captured time which become precious memories of our personal history and experience of life. The definitive moments, saturated with emotion and intensity, sear our memory and influence the rest of our lives.
My life’s work reflects upon these intimate and personal moments with myself. Fuzzy recollections, regurgitated years later, attempt to measure what transpired in these single fragments of time. Struggles in the process of enduring these moments, evoke the struggles of life’s experience – my work is the visual embodiment of the human experience.
