Not your typical serious merlot, this one says “come out and play!” with candy apple, brown sugar and nice herbal hints on the nose. The palate rounds out a bit with some mature notes of tobacco, thyme, black cherry syrup and tart pomegranate seeds. As with the majority of younger wines, an hour in a decanter would not go amiss. This is a medium-bodied merlot, not overly heavy, with an easy finish.
