October’s TasteMaker Series features world-renowned forager Connie Green, co-author of The Wild Table and Chef Sean O’Toole owner of Napa’s critically acclaimed TORC. The evening begins with an interactive forum with Connie and Sean exploring Foraging ~ Ancient & Modern Flavors from the Untamable World, and then rolls into a tasting of bites created from some of the north coast’s most delicious, seasonally forged foods paired with Jessup Cellars wines. The event also opens resident artist Cynthia Carey’s month-long Foraged Arts exhibition.

Connie Green has been foraging mushrooms, berries, greens and other wild foods for thirty years. As the founder of one of the first and one of the largest wild foods businesses in the U.S., Connie has sold ingredients to most of the top chefs in California and around the country including Thomas Keller, Daniel Patterson, Patricia Unterman, Traci des Jardins, Gary Danko, Jeremiah Tower, Judy Rodgers, Bradley Ogden, Julian Serrano, Cindy Pawlcyn, and many more.

Chef Sean O’Toole is the chef/owner of recently opened and critically acclaimed TORC in downtown Napa. Sean has spent more than fifteen years in some of the most highly regarded restaurants in the United States and Europe. At TORC, Sean focuses on the region’s bountiful selection of fresh products and his relationships with the people that produce, forage, and glean them. For his wild edible plants and mushrooms, he has an exclusive relationship with Connie Green of Wine Forest Mushrooms. On occasion they travel throughout California to forage together.
