In association with Arts Council Napa Valley’s Arts in April Yountville celebration, the opening night includes theinteractive forum, wine tasting, and meet-and-greet. Heo’s Neil Young Series is an assemblage of paintings inspired by the music of Neil Young, and, as Heo has said, “Strives to illuminate Young as a person, not to illustrate his songs.” For many years, Heo and Burden have created Young’s album and CD art. In 2010, the couple, along with Neil Young, won the Grammy Award for Special Packaging, which recognized their extraordinary effort in creating the Neil Young Archives Vol. I Box Set.

Heo began her career as an illustrator and graphic designer after studying at the University of Texas at Austin. In Los Angeles, she began her career as an Art Director in music packaging at Warner Brother Records, followed by positions at A&M Records and Madonna’s Maverick Records. Heo’s work has been featured in the New York Times, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum, AIGA, Graphis and Communication Arts.

For the past decade, Heo and Burden have worked as partners in R Twerk & Co., where they work side-by-side from concept through final print, and have recently created cover art for such artists as Conor Oberst, Bright Eyes, Jim James, My Morning Jacket, Monsters of Folk, Jerry Lee Lewis and the recent Jack White & Neil Young album. In the 60s and 70s, Burden blazed rock ‘n’ roll’s artistic trail by designing covers for many rock stars including Mama Cass, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Joni Mitchell, The Doors, Eagles and Jackson Browne.

The Neil Young Series exhibition will run April 11th through June 24th and showcase several of Heo’s original paintings as well as special editions of hand-signed and numbered giclee prints of the entire series, which are available for purchase. A special edition folio of the Neil Young Series, including an in-depth, layered look at the complete collection of paintings, a catalogue essay, is also available at www.jeniceheo.com.
